I'm Phil Jarrett and “I'm So Disappointed In You” on the internet.

I write here about work, tech, policy, cooking and music. That's a lot of ground for one blog, but the through-line is the same: I try to fix or build stuff, or I think too long about a single topic, and I tell you how it went.

So what's with the weird name? I'm So Disappointed In You started as the working title for a production company that wound up shortened to ISDIY - as in, we're doing the best we can with what we've got and we're completely underwhelmed with what we made. It's a middle finger to our own misguided perfectionism, an excuse to hit publish even when we've run out of steam, and also a challenge to keep on fighting to make the world we live in a little bit better.

By day, I make work feel like a community. Fifteen years making people feel connected via internal comms, employee experience, creative brand, and campaigns for causes.
